Youth Programs

We Welcome All Youth to Worship With Us!

At Bethany Congregational Church, we’re glad to have children and youth join us in worship. We believe that when young people take part in the full worship experience, it helps their faith grow. Children stay with their families for the beginning of the service and are invited to the front for a special Youth Message. After that, they head to Church School for age-appropriate learning. Children are welcome to take communion or receive a blessing, depending on their family’s preference. Coloring pages and crayons are also available in the Narthex to help little ones feel at home. We also encourage our youth to give back. Each year, they choose a mission project to support and raise funds through activities like lemonade stands or bake sales. It’s a hands-on way for them to learn about helping others, even people they may never meet. We love seeing our young people grow in faith and compassion.

Church School Program

Our Church School program runs during the school year and is open to children from Kindergarten through Grade 7. Classes take place each Sunday morning. Children begin worship with their families and stay through the Youth Message before heading to their classrooms. Childcare is available for infants through age 4 during the worship service. Sunday School lessons include Bible stories, songs, and prayers that help children explore faith in a way they can understand. Activities like art projects, plays, discussions, and service opportunities encourage curiosity, kindness, and a lasting connection to God’s love.

Confirmation

Our Confirmation program is designed for students in Grade 8 and follows a mentoring approach. Each student is paired with a trusted adult from the congregation to explore questions of faith, spirituality, and personal belief. The class focuses on understanding God, the Bible, and how faith connects to everyday life. Together, students take part in service projects, including helping those in need and learning about homelessness through a visit to Boston. Each student writes a personal faith statement, which they may choose to share on Confirmation Sunday as they decide to become a member of the church.
